With snow continuing to fall and road conditions affected throughout the area, Niagara Region services continue to be impacted by winter weather conditions.
In addition to the closures announced earlier today, Niagara Region has the following service updates:
Mass Immunization Clinic
- Today’s COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre has been cancelled
- Anyone who had an appointment booked for today will be able to walk-in on any future date
Transit
- Niagara Region Transit and NRT OnDemand service is suspended for the remainder of the day
- Niagara Specialized Transit is suspended for the remainder of the day, however any remaining essential trips will be completed
Waste Management
- Waste collection is cancelled today
- Your regularly scheduled collection day during the week of Jan. 17 will be delayed by one day this week, with Friday's collection being completed on Saturday
- All landfills and waste and recycling centres are now closed for the day
Niagara Region Call Centre
- The Call Centre will be closed for the remainder of the day
Niagara Region road operations staff, and our contractors, had a full complement of plow trucks on Regional roads starting on Sunday afternoon and throughout the night. Crews will continue operations on the roads until the clean-up is completed.
Residents should stay home if they can and only travel for essential trips. If you need to travel, please help keep our operators safe by keeping a safe distance back from all snow plows and other winter maintenance vehicles.
Further information on closures and service disruptions can be found on the Region’s website and social channels.
