The City of Port Colborne is offering a variety of activities throughout the Victoria Day holiday weekend.

Library 

  • The Port Colborne Public Library will continue normal operations this weekend from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • On Saturday, May 18, story time with Shelly will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. 
  • Be sure to check out books, DVDs, board games, video games, or the Seed Library for some fun activities to keep busy over the long weekend. 
  • The Port Colborne Public Library will be closed Monday, May 20 for Victoria Day.

Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum 

  • Saturday, May 18 is International Museum Day and this year’s theme is ‘Museums for Education and Research’. To celebrate, the Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum have launched their 'My Space Program', at the Roselawn Centre. They will have public study hours from 1 to 3 p.m. in the double parlour.
  • The Museum will host a guided cemetery tour on Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. 
  • Reserve your spot to tour the historic Oakwood cemetery by emailing archives@portcolborne.ca.

Public Beaches 

  • Nickel Beach and Centennial - Cedar Bay Beach will resume standard seasonal operations this weekend.

Vale Health & Wellness Centre 

  • Open regular operating hours Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19, and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 20 for Victoria Day. 
  • Stop by Rink 1 to catch a National Para Hockey Championships game. For more information, game schedules, and playoff times, click here

Amenities 

  • On Friday, May 17, the City of Port Colborne’s public restroom facilities will reopen. These facilities will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
  • The H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park Discovery Spray Pad will reopen this Victoria Day weekend. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
  • H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park will be welcoming new vendors this summer. Starting Friday, May 17, you can enjoy delicious treats from Pl8 of Fries, Marble Slab Creamery, and Wood Oven Pizza Wagon.

Municipal Offices

  • A reminder that all City facilities will be closed Monday, May 20 for Victoria Day
  • To report a Public Works emergency, call 905-835-5079 to reach dispatch. If it is not a public works emergency, you can also submit a service request using our online form at  www.portcolborne.ca/requestaservice
  • City facilities will reopen Tuesday, May 21 at 8:30 a.m. with customer service representatives available between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. by phone at 905-835-2900, by email at customerservice@portcolborne.ca, or in person. 

Niagara Region

  • NRT OnDemand will not be operating on Monday, May 20.
  • There will be no changes to the Niagara Region curb-side collection schedule.
  • The Humberstone Landfill and Drop-off Depot in Welland is also open on May 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for spring clean-up drop-offs.
