The Vale Health & Wellness Centre is ready to not only welcome hockey back, but spectators, too, when the puck drops at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, for the Brock Badgers vs. Windsor Lancers men’s university exhibition hockey game.
Admission is free, however, most of the tickets for the game are reserved for Port Colborne Minor Hockey Association players and their families. “Last year hockey was almost non-existent, but it’s back now and we’re hoping this game helps get our minor hockey players excited to be back on the ice by watching high caliber hockey played right here on their home ice”, said Mayor Bill Steele.
To encourage PORTicipation, Mayor Steele is challenging Port Colborne Minor Hockey teams to attend the game wearing their team jerseys. The team with the most representation will win a pizza party, sponsored by the Mayor’s office. Everyone who attends the game will also be entered into a contest, with winners being announced throughout the game.
Donations are also being accepted at the entrance in support of Port Colborne Minor Hockey so that they can further support their players and coaches with training and development, equipment, and to provide financial assistance.
A limited number of the free tickets are available for the general public and can be reserved by visiting portcolborne.ca.
Port Colborne Minor Hockey Association is also running a concession stand in the Golden Puck Community Room, located on the second floor.
