February 2, 2022 – 8 p.m.
Port Colborne remains under a winter storm warning. Rain showers will transition to snow this evening, with a total of 20 to 30 cm of snow accumulation expected by Thursday night. Snowfall rates may reach up to 2 cm per hour at times with reduced visibility due to the snow.
Our Operations Crews will begin winter control operations at midnight to focus on keeping priority roads clear. A full complement of snowplows will be deployed at 7:30 a.m., weather dependent.
See snow? Drive slow! A reminder to drive according to changing road and weather conditions.
For tips on how to limit the amount of snow (and time) you have to shovel, read today’s news article.

In preparation for tomorrow’s winter storm event, the Port Colborne Public Library will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, and will not be operating curbside pick-up. If you were planning to pick-up a new book, board game or ‘make and take’ kit curbside at the library, staff will arrange an alternate time with you. If you were looking forward to reading a new book on a snow day, check out the digital services provided by our library.
