The City of Port Colborne is seeking public input on potential revisions to the City’s Community Improvement Plans (CIPs). City staff and RCI Consulting will be hosting an open house on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the L.R. Wilson Heritage Research Archives, 286 King Street, Port Colborne.
RCI Consulting was retained by the City to conduct a comprehensive review of the City’s six existing CIPs. These CIPs were originally based on Council direction to incentivize growth and development in designated CIP project areas in Port Colborne. The main objective of the comprehensive review is to:
- Better address community improvement needs and incorporate best practices.
- Streamline and reposition the incentive programs in the CIP to target and leverage private sector investment more strategically.
- Simplify the processes for program application review and approval.
- Ensure that Port Colborne is investment ready while maintaining financial viability of the programs.
Attendees to the open house can expect to see a presentation on the draft recommendations contained in the new CIP, including proposed revisions to the incentive programs and community improvement project areas.
Feedback will be requested from the participants attending the session. Event space is limited, and registration is required. Registration can be completed by emailing karen.walsh@portcolborne.ca or calling 905-835-2900 x501. For those unable to attend the open house, a copy of the presentation will be made available on the City’s Incentives and Grants webpage. City staff and RCI Consulting will be welcoming all interested participants to provide input via email or completing a short online survey that will be posted on the City’s website on July 15.
