Oak Tree Yoga

Main streets play a vital role in growing the Canadian economy and supporting local communities.

Oak Tree Yoga & Wellness is pleased to be receiving a non-repayable contribution of $10,000 through the My Main Street, Local Business Accelerator program.

This contribution will allow Linsey Hill of Oak Tree Yoga & Wellness to support findings from the market research provided by My Main Street to drive economic growth and attract new customers to the business and the entire Port Colborne community.

On behalf of Oak Tree Yoga & Wellness, we’d like to thank Olga Loeffen, the City of Port Colborne and the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) for supporting our local business.

The My Main Street, Local Business Accelerator program is delivered by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario with an overall Government of Canada investment of $23.25 million through FedDev Ontario to support the recovery and strength of main streets and local businesses in southern Ontario.

Through its market report, Oak Tree Yoga & Wellness learned that there are approximately 2,610 residents in the immediate area that could be potential clients. Also, that these residents have a 12 percent higher attraction to nature and community involvement than the rest of Port Colborne. Oak Tree Yoga’s opening is significant for the community, which prior to this did not have access to a yoga studio in the immediate downtown core. The studio’s owner, Linsey Hill, hopes to collaborate with other health professional currently offering their dedicated services in Port Colborne, to build a community of like-minded people interested in improving well-being.

Access to the non-repayable funding, will allow Hill to purchase furniture for the boutique, yoga equipment, a high-end sound system to create a more immersive experience and, most importantly, a sign for the outside of her storefront so that she can be easily located.
