A series of free film screenings will provide fun for the whole family throughout the next seven months.
Thanks to a partnership between the City of Port Colborne and the YMCA of Niagara, a new family-friendly movie will be shown each month in the gymnasium at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre at 550 Elizabeth Street. While admission is free, participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation to Port Cares.
Movies in the Gym seeks to expand upon the success of Port Colborne's other family-friendly activities, creating an inviting space for residents and visitors to connect and enjoy shared experiences together.
The screening dates, selected films and their ratings are:
- Saturday, October 26 - Hotel Transylvania PG Rating
- Saturday, November 23 - Inside Out 2 PG Rating
- Saturday, December 28 - Doolittle PG Rating
- Saturday, January 18 - Frozen PG Rating
- Saturday, February 8 - Mighty Ducks PG Rating
- Saturday, March 15 - Elemental PG Rating
- Saturday, April 5 - Moana 2 Not Yet Rated
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for each screening and the movies will begin at 5:45 p.m.
All of the movies are family friendly, but parental guidance is recommended for younger viewers.
Certain movies will also feature giveaways and free family skates.
