On Tuesday, March 9, from 4 – 6 p.m., Port Colborne Fire & Emergency Services will hand out non-medical masks to Port Colborne residents.
As part of a generous donation from MedSup Canada to the Niagara Health Foundation, Niagara Region received more than five million non-medical masks for the community. These masks were distributed to municipalities, with Port Colborne receiving more than 60,000. City staff have already donated masks to community partners and have plans to distribute thousands of masks to residents.

Time: 4 – 6 p.m.
Where: Fire Station, 3 Killaly Street West, Port Colborne
What: Handing out non-medical masks to residents; one package (50 masks) per household.
Cost: Free
How: City staff and Fire Fighters will be handing out packages of non-medical masks, 50 masks per package, in a drive-through type system. The Fire Station will have designated drive-through lanes and residents are asked to roll down their windows and staff and Fire Fighters, who will be wearing personal protective equipment, will hand over the packages. At no point will participants need to leave their vehicles.
Port Colborne Fire & Emergency Services will also be collecting non-perishable food items during this time, in support of Port Cares.
