Easter bunny at City Hall

Easter fun is coming to Port Colborne on Saturday, April 19.

The festivities will begin when the Easter Bunny hops aboard a tugboat on the Welland Canal for the annual Tugboat Bunny event – a tradition that welcomes him to town while paying tribute to the city’s marine heritage. All are invited to celebrate the Easter Bunny’s arrival at 9 a.m. on West St., near the Pilot House (pending Seaway traffic).

Activities will continue as the fluffy guest of honour bounces across town to the Vale Health & Wellness Centre, located at 550 Elizabeth St., from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The annual children’s Egg Hunt is set for 10 a.m. to noon at the side yard of the Vale Health & Wellness Centre (while quantities last). Residents are asked to bring their own baskets for the Egg Hunt, which is weather dependent. City staff will be available for on-site support during the event to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Port Colborne Mayor William Steele said he looks forward to seeing old and new friends at the Easter festivities.

“It’s great to see our traditional children’s Egg Hunt – and more recently, the Tugboat Bunny event – bringing the community together,” said Steele. “It’s wonderful to watch parents share these traditions with their children as they relive the childhood magic themselves.”

Residents can take part in other Easter activities throughout the day, including:

  • 10 a.m. to noon – Egg Hunt (while quantities last)
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Easter crafts with the Port Colborne Public Library
