The City of Port Colborne, in collaboration with Thompson Construction will be completing upgrades to the front counter and entrance to City Hall to ensure compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

Schedule:
Commencing on June 21, 2024, the work is expected to take place over a 4 day timeframe and will conclude by June 24, 2024. The designated working hours are between 5 p.m and 12 a.m. Friday and Monday, while weekend work will begin at 7 a.m. and conclude at 12 a.m. There will be additional work such as painting touch ups and countertop installation that will be completed within the following weeks.
Scope of Work:
Remove and replacement of the existing cashier and reception desk. New millwork will be installed to ensure accessibility for the front counters. Additionally, storage cabinets, wall mounted monitors, and upgraded countertop will be completed.
Includes the installation of receptacles for new wall mount monitors, re-work of existing receptacles into new millwork, removal and disposal of existing fluorescent light fixtures, and the replacement of existing pot lights with LED retrofits.
Painting of all wall areas from reception desks to front entrance, all ceiling drywall areas, painting of exit doors, columns/pillars, and existing lighting screens in perimeter valance.
The installation of accessible doors will be completed for individuals with disabilities to gain access to the first-floor work area.
Impact on City Hall Visitors:
- Temporary disruptions to the front countertop as we await the installation once millwork has been completed. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and request your patience and cooperation.
