The City of Port Colborne is thrilled to announce GIO Rail as the presenting sponsor for the 2024 Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival. The collaboration between the railway service provider and the City demonstrates a shared commitment to supporting local initiatives, fostering community engagement, and encouraging economic uplift in Port Colborne. 

GIO Rail has partnered with the City of Port Colborne for several years, and this new $75,000 sponsorship deal demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to making significant local investments, supporting the community, and focusing on growth and development in Port Colborne.  

The Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival is Port Colborne’s signature summer event, and 2024 will mark the 46th marine heritage celebration in the community. Last year, more than 60,000 unique visitors attended the four-day festival, while this year will see a further-expanded footprint of new festival features to make the experience even more memorable.

The Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival is a beloved Port Colborne tradition. It offers an array of entertainment, activities, and experiences. From breathtaking fireworks displays, to live music performances, delicious local cuisine, specialty vendors and artisans, and interactive exhibits, the festival has something for everyone.

More information about this year’s Canal Days festival, including the musical lineups on the main stage and additions to the West Street festival grounds, will be announced on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
