Niagara Region, in partnership with Brock University, the City of St. Catharines, Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority and Ontario Power Generation, will host the 21st annual Niagara Children’s Water Festival on April 30 – May 3, 2024.
Niagara Children’s Water Festival is a unique opportunity for students in grade four from across Niagara to engage in hands-on activities that educate them about the importance of our most valuable natural resource: water. The goal of the Festival is to empower children to initiate behaviour change within their homes, schools and communities.
“Community partners from across Niagara have worked together to create a fun event for our future decision makers that highlights the importance of water. This year, we are thrilled to be welcoming 85 schools to Brock University,” said Amanda Deschenes, Chair, Niagara Children’s Water Festival Steering Committee. “Thanks to our partners and Watershed sponsors District School Board of Niagara, Niagara Catholic District School Board, Oxy Vinyl and TD Friends of the Environment Foundation the Festival was able to expand this year and will reach more Niagara youth.”
Niagara Children’s Water Festival is prepared to welcome the 3,200 students, along with about 1500 parents, teachers and volunteers, who have registered for this year’s event. The four-day event includes 30 interactive and hands-on activity centres focused water conservation, water protection, water attitude, water science and water technology.
