Erie Street Watermain Construction to begin February 28

The construction of the Erie Street Watermain will commence Monday, February 28, 2022, with an anticipated completion date of July 2022.

Erie Street, beginning at Neff Street, will be reduced to one lane during the construction hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stonecast Construction Ltd. will be completing the replacement of the watermain. Service disruption is expected to be minimal but will occur during various stages and connections of the new watermain to the existing network. Residents affected by the disturbances...

Port Colborne tasks consultant with developing an affordable housing strategy

Port Colborne council has hired a consultant to develop a strategy that will look at improving access to affordable housing for new and existing residents.

The city assembled a team of staff from different departments to review proposals and select the most capable consulting firm. Staff’s recommendation in report 2022-30 to have Tim Welch Consulting complete the work was presented and accepted by council at their meeting last night.

Niagara is looking to commission an outdoor public art sculpture that celebrates Indigenous history and cultures.
