Lockview Park – New Playground Construction

Please be advised, Lockview Park, located at 5 John Street, will be temporarily closed from October through December 2024, weather permitting, to support the final phase of playground construction.

This project aims to benefit users of the park, residents in the surrounding area, and students of Lakeshore Catholic High School.

Pleasant beach road end retaining wall construction to begin October 7

The City has hired Rankin Construction to replace the deteriorating retaining wall along the Pleasant Beach Road End. The new design, known as a revetment, will provide a more natural and visually appealing solution.

Construction Dates:
Start: October 7, 2024
Completion: November 29, 2024

During this period, access to the Pleasant Beach Road End will be restricted for all residents.

Port Colborne open house to feature touch-a-truck and fire prevention

An annual open house in Port Colborne is welcoming the community to explore various City vehicles and learn about fire safety.

Taking place Thursday, Oct. 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. the open house will feature a touch-a-truck event at the City’s Engineering and Operations Centre, and a fire safety event at the firehall next door.

Tennessee Avenue Wall Restoration

Pleased be advised of the upcoming restoration of the Tennessee Avenue pillars, gates, and walls. This project is based on a study conducted by WSP Canada Inc. to preserve the area’s natural heritage.

Project Schedule:

  • Start Date: Week of September 30, 2024
  • Estimated Completion: End of November 2024
  • Working Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
