Niagara Region announces change to price of garbage tags effective May 1, 2023

Niagara Region is changing the price of garbage tags from $2.50 per tag to $2.85 effective May 1, 2023. Residents living in homes or apartments with six units or less who need to place an extra bag or can of garbage at the curb can purchase a garbage tag. This price change supports the full cost recovery of garbage collection and supports Niagara Region’s continued effort to divert recyclable and organic materials away from landfills. Sugarloaf St closed between Isabel St and Fielden Ave for approximately four weeks

POSTPONED.More information to follow when a new start date is determined. 

Beginning Monday, April 10, the City of Port Colborne will close Sugarloaf St between Isabel St and Fielden Ave to accommodate an archaeological investigation.

Motorists should follow the posted detour signs using Steele St, Ash St and Fielden Ave. 

Access to the front driveway at Niagara Health’s Port Colborne Site will be maintained, however parking options on Sugarloaf St will be reduced.

Active Transportation Master Plan

The City of Port Colborne has retained McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers to undertake a study to develop an Active Transportation Master Plan (ATMP) for the City.
