Annual community grant program accepting second-round of applications

The City of Port Colborne’s community grant program is now accepting the second-round of applications from non-profit organizations. 

As approved at the Nov. 23, 2020 Council Meeting, the community grant program will increase by 20 per cent. This year the grant committee will distribute more than $35,000 to non-profit organizations, charitable organizations, and service organizations that benefit the citizens of Port Colborne and enhance the quality of the community, especially during a pandemic.

In honour of Community Living Month, Mayor Steele helped raise the Community Living Port Colborne-Wainfleet flag today, Thursday, May 27. 

Community Living Port Colborne Wainfleet as well as all Community Living associations across Ontario celebrate Community Living month during the month of May each year, promoting true inclusion, empowering and supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities to achieve their desired quality of life.

Council approves strategic plan that will guide the City’s future

In a unanimous vote at last night’s meeting, Council approved Port Colborne’s 2020-2023 strategic plan to help inform decision-making, set priorities, and allocate resources to ensure the City’s future success.

New COVID-19 vaccination clinic dates available for booking

New COVID-19 vaccination clinics have been added to the provincial portal and are available for booking:

• May 31 – Niagara Falls, MacBain Community Centre
• June 6-8 – West Lincoln, West Lincoln Community Centre
• June 9-13 – Pelham, Meridian Community Centre
