Hundreds of new trees to be planted in Port Colborne

Port Colborne is branching out its urban forest expansion efforts as hundreds of trees are set to be planted on City boulevards and properties over the coming weeks.
Starting this fall and continuing until the end of 2025, the City will be planting nearly 1,600 new trees to preserve and grow the urban tree canopy.
One of the goals of the City’s Urban Forest Management Plan is to increase the tree canopy to 40 per cent by 2040, with the current canopy at 32 per cent.

The City of Port Colborne will be conducting repairs to the playground's surface (soft landing) at H.H. Knoll Park on Wednesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Homewood Ave. Watermain Construction: October 2024 - February 2025

The construction of the Homewood Ave. watermain will commence October 7, 2024 with an anticipated completion date of February 2025. Sections of the street will be reduced to one lane throughout the project, depending on the contractor’s progress and where the work is taking place.
