PORTicipate in Port Colborne this March Break

There are plenty of activities occurring in Port Colborne during March Break and we are encouraging everyone to PORTicipate!  

 Schedule of activities below:

 

Monday, March 11 – Friday, March 15, 2019

8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Vale Health & Wellness Centre

March Madness Active Camps - Participants will make up their own teams and logos then compete in a number of activities while they earn points in a bracket-style tournament throughout the week. We will be playing indoors and outdoors as much as possible so don’t forget to come prepared to bundle up! Wreck This Book for Tweens – Paint, poke, create, destroy; use your mess-making abilities to create a book as unique as you are!

Therapy Tails – Drop in and tell tales to a therapy dog. FREE.

Meet Canadian Children’s Author Rebecca Bender - Sponsored by the Canadian Federation of University Women, Welland and District. Take part in an interactive story-time presentation with Rebecca Bender.

Wildflower Seed Bombs - Want to have fun while making the world a greener, more environmentally friendly place? Make exploding seed bombs that are both fun to throw and an easy way to grow native wildflowers.

Bunny Trail Painting with Margaret - Create an acrylic painting on wood of a bunny!

SOLD OUT! STEM Makerspace Lab - Discover, design, and build in a series of hands-on activities that explore the STEM concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Teddy Bear Sleepover - Children and their favourite stuffed friends are invited for a teddy bear story time. Teddies will be spending the night and picked up the following day to find out what kind of mischief they got into!

Ages 4-8; pre-register; $2 fee.

2 – 4 p.m.

Public Library

Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons - Fight monsters, solve puzzles, help commoners, and find treasure! Learn the basics of D&D and join the adventure as you head out on a magical journey in this classic fantasy role-playing game. Ages 12+; FREE.

Saturday, March 16, 2019

9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Public Library

Red Cross Babysitting Basics - The course focuses on five main areas: childcare giving, first aid, injury prevention, leadership, and business skills. Participants will receive a course manual and a certification upon completion.

Ages 11-15 (proof of age required); pre-register; $45 fee.
