In an effort to determine the overall patient experience, and to see if patients have any concerns with the level of service they are currently receiving, the City has rolled out a Primary Care Patient Experience Survey. Following a successful survey conducted in Fort Erie, Port Colborne is using the same model to engage with residents and compile data.
“The data collected from this survey will hopefully give us a good idea of where the gaps are, and if the issue is actually care, or process and access,” commented Ashley Grigg, director, community and economic development. “The response was overwhelming in Fort Erie, and we hope to receive a similar response here in Port Colborne. We will also be using Fort Erie as a comparator since our demographics are similar, but practice models are not”.

Once results are completed and analyzed, they will be shared with the LHIN, Niagara Health, the Port Colborne Health Services committee, physicians, and allied health professionals in Port Colborne.
