Send a shout out to your favourite Crossing Guard during School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day

Posted by Municipal School Crossing Programs of Niagara on Friday, March 8th, 2019

The Municipal School Crossing Programs of Niagara is encouraging residents to show their support and appreciation for their neighbourhood Crossing Guards on School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day: March 20, 2019.

Join us by celebrating the School Crossing Guards across the Province of Ontario in this 1st Annual event!

Help us recognize the individuals across our city, whose assistance helps young residents with their safe daily commutes to and from school.

To learn more about becoming a School Crossing Guard, please contact your local municipality for further information.

Support your local School Crossing Guards by:

o Stop when a School Crossing Guard raises his or her stop sign

o Take notice of whether a Guard is on duty and slow down when approaching school crossing locations

o Obey the law. Remain stopped until all children AND the Guard have completely exited the roadway

o Proceed with caution – obey posted speed limits, and observe all NO Stopping and NO Parking signs – park in designated areas only
