St. Catharines Provincial Courthouse Closes Oct. 31

The St. Catharines Provincial Courthouse will close as part of Niagara Region's efforts to consolidate its court services. Beginning at noon on Oct. 31, 2019, all provincial offence services will operate out of the Welland Courthouse, located at 445 East Main St.

Regional Council approved the consolidation of the provincial courthouses across Niagara. The use of the St. Catharines Courthouse located at 71 King St. has been in decline since the October 2017 opening of the Welland Courthouse.

Court Services

Niagara residents are reminded that many court services can be done electronically.

To pay a fine, find the status of your case, or request an early resolution meeting, go to ontario.ca/ticketsandfines. Residents can also pay a licence suspension fine at any Service Ontario location.

Transit to the Welland Courthouse

The Welland Courthouse is serviced by public transit and has ample parking.

Niagara Region Transit Route 70 offers weekday service between St. Catharines and WellandRoute 60 offers weekday service between Niagara Falls and WellandRoute 25N offers weekday service between Port Colborne and Welland

The Welland transit terminal at 160 East Main Street is located a few minutes away from the Welland Courthouse.
