It’s sure to be a fun-filled long weekend in Port Colborne as the city kicks off the start of the summer season with lots of ways to PORTicipate!

The weekend at a glance:

Thursday, May 16, 2019

Port Colborne Downtown Cruisers Association returns to downtown Port Colborne every Thursday night from May 16 – September 12, 2019.

The following roads will be closed to general vehicular traffic and parking from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., each Thursday from May 16 - September 12, 2019:

Clarence Street, from eastern limit of the western driveway of the Food Basics parking lot, to the western limit of Catharine Street;

Clarence Street, from the eastern limit of Catharine Street to the western limit of King Street;

Clarence Street, from the eastern limit of King Street to the western limit of West Street; and

Market Square will be closed to vehicular traffic on May 16, May 30, July 4, July 11, August 29, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of the western access laneway, to be used as an ingress and egress to the CIBC Bank.

Nickel Beach is officially open for the season! Mondays-Thursdays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Fridays – Sundays & Holiday Mondays 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Day Pass: $15 (Weekdays) Day Pass: $20 (Weekends & Holiday Mondays) Season passes also available.

9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Pop Up Library at the Farmers’ Market
Look for the Port Colborne Public Library Pop-Up Library in Market Square, and every other Friday during the summer.

1 – 2:20 p.m. - Golden Puck Free P.A. Day Skate

Thanks to the generous support from the Port Colborne Golden Puck Committee P.A. Day Skates are now FREE! Join us on Rink 1 at the Vale Health & Wellness Centre.

7 – 9 p.m. – Game #1 – Canadian Women’s National Sledge Hockey Team vs Sledge Team Ontario, Rink 1, Vale Health & Wellness Centre, 550 Elizabeth Street.

10 a.m. – 8 p.m. - Parks and Pavilions officially open for the season! The Discovery Spray Pad at H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park, along with access to city parks, including washrooms and pavilions, officially open for the season. The Discovery Spray Pad will be open weekends only (Saturday & Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until mid-June. From mid-June to Labour Day it will be open daily from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m and from Labour Day until October 1 the Spray Pad will be operational weekends only.
