Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day, Port Colborne! To celebrate we planted a new Shade Master Locust on West Street!

Did you know you could beautify your property by planting a tree from the approved list of trees compiled from the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority Guide to Native Plants and receive up to $50 rebate towards the cost of the tree, per property?

You can also conserve water and update your washroom by installing a new low-flow toilet to be eligible for a $50 rebate per toilet. The toilet must have a maximum flush capacity of 5L or less per flush or single flush, or toilets that are dual flush are eligible for rebate, at a limit of two toilet rebates per single-family residence.

PORTicipate and learn more about our Environmental Committee and their rebate program by visiting http://portcolborne.ca/page/committee_environmental.

Looking for ways to pitch-in and help clean up your city?

PORTicipate by joining our Community & Economic Development Department, in partnership with Port Colborne High School, for our Community Trail Clean-Up Day on the Great Trail, a.k.a. Friendship Trail, on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Meet us at Seaway Park for 8:30 a.m. Protective gloves and lunch will also be provided. A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2019.
