As a fully licensed Water Distribution-Wastewater Collection System Operator, you will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to collection and analysis of established water quality tests, collection of water samples for lab analysis, participation in the water on-call rotation, safely driving and operating all assigned equipment and attachments, conducting periodic flushing activities, inspection and maintenance of the water distribution system, responding to and investigating various types of complaints. On an as-needed basis, the Water Wastewater Operator II provides operational support to other infrastructure services (i.e. snowplowing relief), and performs other duties as assigned. Classroom training sessions are required on a regular basis to obtain required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and On-the-Job (OTJ) training hours. 

The ideal candidate will have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, MECP Certification in Water Distribution Class 1 & Wastewater Collection System Class 1, a valid DZ license and a valid Basic First Aid/CPR certificate, along with a minimum of one year experience working with municipal water/wastewater services, equipment and performing maintenance related duties; or equivalent. Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills are required. Consideration will be made for candidates who have MECP Operator-in-Training (OIT) Certification in Water Distribution & Wastewater Collection, however Class 1 is preferred.

This is a full-time unionized position based on 40 hours per week.  Depending on your qualifications, the pay range is $27.76 - $30.91 per hour with a competitive benefit and pension package.
