The Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum is just a block away from the southern terminus of the Welland Ship Canal. Reporting to the Museum Curator, the Custodian is responsible for the maintenance of the Museum grounds and buildings. Specifically, you will be keeping buildings, grounds and equipment clean, neat and in good repair so they are attractive and safe for the visiting public. Some duties include garbage removal, mowing the lawn, shoveling snow and de-icing walkways, maintaining gravel walkways, watering and weeding the gardens, minor repairs of buildings and grounds. This position is required to be on hand for special events and activities.

The ideal candidate has an OSSD and 1-2 related work experience in maintenance. You will have experience with lawn mowers, fence repairs, grounds-keeping, power/hand tools. You are able to prioritize tasks and stay organized, with good interpersonal and communications skills.

This is a part-time position, working a routine schedule of 10 hours per week from April to December. Hours may increase in the future, but will remain a part-time position. The rate is $19.62 per hour.
