Take notice that the Council of the City of Port Colborne will hold a public meeting to consider a by-law to permanently close part of:

Borden Avenue: Part of the road allowance between Lots 15 and 16 on Plan 10, and Lots 23 and 24 on Plan 33, located between Steele Street and Knoll Street.

Port Colborne, we’re currently under another Winter Storm Warning with 20 to 30 cm of snow expected by Thursday night.

Once snowplow operations begin, we have nowhere to push the snow except to the curb or side of the road allowance. However, before our snowplows even hit the streets, here are some tips to minimize how much you need to shovel:

Beach road end study draft report available for feedback

Following the completion of a public survey and online public meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, the beach road end study draft report from Sierra Planning is now available for feedback.

The City of Port Colborne, in consultation with Sierra Planning, has undertaken a study of the north/south roads that terminate at the Lake Erie Shoreline, including:

  • Lorraine Road
  • Weaver Road
  • Pinecrest Road
  • Cedar Bay Road
  • Silver Bay Road
  • Wyldewood Road
  • Pleasant Beach Road
  • Holloway Bay Road

Erie Street Watermain Construction: February 7 - June 2022

The construction of the Erie Street Watermain will commence February 7, 2022, with an anticipated completed date of June 2022. Sections of the street will be reduced to one lane depending where the contractor is working.

Stonecast Construction Ltd. will be completing the replacement of the watermain. Service disruption is expected to be minimal, but will occur during various stages and connections of the new watermain to the existing network. Residents affected by the disturbances will be informed...
