Water tower maintenance happening the month of October

Posted by Corporate Communications on Friday, October 2nd, 2020

For the month of October, Niagara Region will be completing routine inspection and maintenance work on the Port Colborne water tower. During this time, they will be deliberately and temporarily lowering water system pressure as they drain the water tower. This may result in abnormal tap water pressure for intermittent periods. This will only be temporary and should quickly go back to normal. Tap water during this time continues to be safe to drink and there should be no other disruptions other than potentially low water pressure.

Residents are asked to avoid Reservoir Park and surrounding area, located between Elm. St and Fielden Ave. The water tower will be drained through the Fielden Ave. reservoir and dechlorinated before entering the Elm St. retention pond.

Please see map below for exact location.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if low water pressure occurs for longer than 24 hours, please call the Operations Department at 905-835-5079.
