Weather Forecast - May 17-19, 2020

Posted by Corporate Communications on Saturday, May 16th, 2020

The sun may be shining today, but have you seen the upcoming forecast? The next three days are calling for rain, and a lot of it!

Are you prepared?

- If you have a catch basin in front of your home ensure it is free and clear of debris. Though it is beautiful to watch the trees bud and bloom this time of year, the remnants of the buds often times will collect on a catch basin and reduce its capacity to receive surface water.

The City is prepared to respond to any events we experience over the long weekend. The Operations Centre is closed Monday, May 18, in recognition of Victoria Day; however, we’re still available by calling our after hours dispatch at 905-835-5079.

- If you observe any flooding, please call our after hours dispatch to report it.
- If you experience a blocked sanitary sewer lateral, you can also call out after hours dispatch and someone will be happy to assist.

Note: the municipality is responsible for the integrity of the sanitary sewer lateral from the property line to the sewer main and homeowners are responsible for the sanitary sewer lateral from the property line into the dwelling. However, if you have any questions, call our after hours dispatch and someone will be happy to assist in diagnosing the root issue of the blockage.

Stay safe and dry, Port Colborne.
