Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping is a crime. Violators will be prosecuted if found guilty of dumping material in non-designated areas (i.e. public property, ditches, rural areas, public litter bins etc.) and are subject to a $500 fine.

Help keep Niagara clean. If you witness illegal dumping, report it as soon as possible. Provide as many details as possible so it can be investigated and cleaned up quickly.

To make a report residents can:

o Call Crime Stoppers of Niagara at 1-800-222-TIPS

o Call the Niagara Region's Waste Info-Line at 1-800-594-5542

o Report online at niagararegion.ca/waste

Region landfill sites are open for essential trips only during the COVID-19 pandemic. But if you can, hold onto materials until landfill sites are fully operational.
