The Port Colborne Public Library is pleased to announce the completion of the construction of an accessible, universal washroom on the main floor of the library.
“We are excited to be able to improve accessibility and safety for all of our patrons, including persons with disabilities,” said Susan Therrien, Director of Library Services. “We are extremely grateful for the support provided by the Government of Canada.”
The project was funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Enabling Accessibility Fund, which seeks to increase accessibility for people with disabilities and allows them to participate in community activities, programs, and services.
“A key area of focus in our strategic plan is accessibility,” said Mike Cooper, Chair of the Port Colborne Public Library Board. “This will allow us to offer quality programs to everyone in our community.”
