The medal design commission is an opportunity for artists to express their creativity and gain local and national exposure.

The Canada Games medals are a reflection of the culture and spirit of the Canada Games, a memorable life-time keepsake and a celebration of the athletic achievement of successful competitors.

Artists over the age of 18 are encouraged to present a minimum of 3 pieces of original art along with a 250-word maximum submission detailing their artistic experience, their connection to Niagara and how their vision or concept for the medals aligns with the spirit of the Canada Games. Applicants are NOT asked to create original artwork at this time. Only semi-finalist will be invited to present their medal design.

Submissions will be accepted via email :

The email message can link to an online portfolio or include a minimum of 3 attachments.

Submissions are also accepted by mail or drop off to the Niagara 2021 office:

Each semi-finalist will be invited to present their medal design and will receive a $500 honorarium.
