The L.R. Wilson Archives will bring history to life when their Local History Speakers’ Series returns this fall.
The L.R. Wilson Archives, 286 King Street, Port Colborne will once again host the Speakers’ Series on select Thursday nights, beginning at 7 p.m. Admission to the series is free, refreshments will be served, and following each talk attendees will have the opportunity to ask speakers questions.
The dates and topics for the 2018 Local History Speakers’ Series are:
- October 4, 2018 Abby Stansfield, M.A. Cooking up the Past – Our local heritage culture.
- October 25, 2018 Jeffrey Reichheld, M.A. Wainfleet & the Feeder Canal – The impact of the Feed Canal on Wainfleet’s development.
- November 8, 2018 Michelle Vosburgh, Ph.D. “We will Remember” Armchair Cemetery Tour – To honour local military service on the 100th Anniversary of the 1918 Armistice.
- November 22, 2018 Michelle Vosburgh, Ph.D. Port Colborne and the Canals – The effects of the Welland Canals on Port Colborne.
