Please be advised that the Port Colborne YMCA is currently without power due to the weather conditions. For the time being the facility is closed, but please stay tuned for updates as to when the power is restored. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Vale Health & Wellness Centre is currently without power but operating off of a back-up generator. Ice rentals are cancelled until 6:00 p.m.
Power outages are being reported on the West Side of Port Colborne.
Wind Storm Update in Port Colborne as of 2:25 p.m. on April 4, 2018:
Lakeshore Road East (west of Snider between Snider & Reuter) is closed due to downed tree. CNP will be arriving on site.
Most southern part of Fielden Ave at H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park / Boat Ramp is closed due to ice/water level.
Downed trees on Snider Rd off Hwy 140 & Third Concession nearest Hwy 140.
Downed trees on Third Concession near Chippawa Rd have been cleared.
The gates are down at Eagle Marsh Drain and the pump is working very well.

On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, Environment Canada issued a Wind Warning for Niagara Region. Very strong Wind gusts up to 90km/hr at times are expected and will shift to westerly this afternoon.

What is the City doing to prepare for the storm?
We currently have crews clearing storm grates and roadside catch basins.
Staff will also patrol drains and will remove any downed trees or debris which may reduce flow.
