A Fire Safety Message

           To Our Citizens

As Fire Chief in Port Colborne, I am proud to say the Community has been very receptive to our continuing efforts to make our City a safer place in which to live, work and play. The Fire Department has made a concerted effort to increase public awareness about smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Fire Department personnel have worked very hard to raise public awareness and assist residents in preparing themselves in the event of a fire in their homes. We are making headway in our efforts, but we must find ways to continue to raise public awareness.

We are looking at ways to educate people and make fire safety an every day way of life. Many homes in our City have prepared themselves through planning a fire safe way of life. You should be congratulated for your efforts. Not only do you protect your home, family and belongings, but you keep our fire fighting personnel safe through the prevention of fires.

Yes, we have a long way to go, but without your assistance in doing the necessary things to ensure fire safety in your homes or asking us to assist you, we are all at greater risk.

On behalf of all of the members of our City’s Fire Department thank you for assisting us in making our City a safer place in which to live.

We Need You to Help Us Succeed
