Economic Development Strategy Focus Group

The City of Port Colborne is currently developing a new Economic Development Strategy to guide economic success in the city. This strategy will provide a fact-based, practical approach to creating a strong and diverse local economy in Port Colborne and will create a vision for the economy with accompanying strategic directions to help guide decision makers over the next 10 years. The strategy will also provide specific action items that directly support the increased appeal of the municipality to business investors.

The Community has been invited to participate in a focus group on the current business climate in Port Colborne and future prospects for the community. This facilitated session is scheduled for two hours. It will be facilitate by MDB Insight, the consultancy selected by the City to complete the Economic Development Strategy. Your participation is completely voluntary, but the City would sincerely appreciate to hear your perspectives as we plan for the future.

A focus group open to the public, is scheduled for 5:00 pm on Monday, October 30th. It will be held at City Hall, 66 Charlotte Street in the Council Chambers on the third floor. You are requested to confirm your attendance by responding

The City will also be hosting a public consultation for the economic development strategy at 5:00pm on Monday October 30th. It will be held in Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall at 66 Charlotte Street, and is open to all interested members of the public, including those attending focus groups. You are invited to come out and share your perspective on the current business climate in Port Colborne and have a voice on the future direction for the City. The discussion will be facilitated by the City’s consultant, MDB Insight.
