Richard O’Neil’s picture “Canopy Ride above Port Colborne” was named the winner of the city’s annual summer photo competition.

“Throughout the year the City of Port Colborne has encouraged photographers of all skill levels to capture images of people, events, holidays, breathtaking landscapes and mother-nature and to share with us their vision of Niagara’s south coast,” said Mayor Vance Badawey.

“Today, it is with great pleasure that we not only announce the winner of the summer 2012 photography competition. but that we invite our residents and visitors to participate in our fall 2012 competition.”

All things Fall is the name of the next contest. Photos of the impressive fall colours, a young child playing in a just raked pile of leafs, birds flying across the lake at dawn, displays of seasonal produce and Halloween are all potential subjects.
