Dylan Kirn gets some air off a jump at Niagara Boarder Pass.
Saturday will be a WAKE-Up Call for Port Colborne as riders from across Ontario compete with the best of the best in the provincial cable wakeboarding scene.
Niagara Boarder Pass will host the first of a dual-event series at its park at Sugarloaf Harbour Marina in Port Colborne. Spectators are encouraged to come out and watch riders compete in amateur and intermediate wakeboarding categories.
Each stop will crown a winner for the open/advanced wakeboarding and wakeskating category and an overall winner will be crowned in Sarnia, on Sept. 1.
Competitors this weekend will face the Rockstar Incline, Dragon Wedge, Metab Kicker and newly-installed Fox Wake flatbar at the cable wakeboard park that stretches between the marina and boat launch at H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park.
The event is sponsored in partnership with Boarder Pass, Sugarloaf Harbour Marina, Rockstar Energy Drink, Fox Wake, Dragon, Metab Clothing Co., BIOS Action Cam, Dave Sandford Photography, City of Port Colborne, Port Colborne Tourism, Sesitec System 2.0 and Endless Surf in Grand Bend.
The event runs 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its Facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/events/383952311669766.
