April 19: National Canadian Film Day

When: Wednesday, April 19, all day

Where: Port Colborne Library

What: Screenings of National Film Board (NFB) films

April 19 has been designated National Canadian Film Day, with screenings of Canadian movies taking place all across the country. Port Colborne Library will be showing NFB films on their TV all day to celebrate. We also encourage you to rent one of their many Canadian films (clearly marked with a maple leaf sticker) and have your own little screening at home.


June 20: Opening Ceremonies

When: Tuesday, June 20, 2017, 2 - 4 p.m.

Where: Port Colborne Historical & Marine Museum

What: Opening Ceremonies & Dedication of Timber Frame Cabin

Enjoy entertainment from the City of Thorold Pipe Band, exhibits of 150-related projects (including a cedar canoe crafted by Port Colborne High School students and a Canada 150 quilt by the Port Colborne Quilt & Stitchery Guild), and light refreshments.



June 23: Centennial Pool Time Capsule Opening

When: Friday, June 23, 2017, 10 a.m. 

Where: Vale Health & Wellness Centre

What: Opening of Centennial Pool Time Capsule from 1967

Revisit 50 years of swimming in Port Colborne as we open the time capsule buried under Centennial Pool in 1967. See the items and messages people left to be discovered half a century later. Pictures and other artifacts will also be on display courtesy of the Museum. Light refreshments will be served. 


June 27: Niagara Memorial Militaires Alumni Drum Corps Concert in the Park

When: Tuesday, June 27, 2017, 7:00 p.m.

Where: H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park Bandshell

What: Outdoor Concert by Local Marching Band

With a mix of classic marches, Broadway show tunes, pop songs, and movie themes, the Niagara Memorial Militaires Alumni Drum Corps is sure to entertain everyone. Join us for this free concert in one of Port Colborne’s most popular outdoor settings.
