This page contains projections of population, household, and employment growth for the City of Port Colborne to the year 2031, based on five year intervals. These projections have been made by the Regional Municipality of Niagara, and are included in the Regional Policy Plan. 

Because of the connectivity of the labour and real estate markets in South Niagara, projections for municipalities adjacent to Port Colborne have been included as well. The total population of Port Colborne is projected to grow from 19,300 in 2006 to 24,100 by 2031. Over this 25 year period, Port Colborne's population will grow by a projected 24.9%, or slightly under 1% per year.

The total population of Port Colborne and its adjacent municipalities is projected to grow from 105,400 in 2006 to 134,100 by 2031. Over this 25 year period, this area will grow by a projected 27.2%, or slightly over 1% per year.

The number of households in Port Colborne is projected to grow from 7,790 in 2006 to 10,170 by 2031. Over this 25 year period, the number of households in Port Colborne is projected to increase by 2,380, or 30.5%.

The number of households in Port Colborne and its adjacent municipalities is projected to grow from 43,115 in 2006 to 57,420 by 2031. Over this 25 year period, the number of households in this area is projected to increase by 14,305, or 33.1%.

The number of jobs in Port Colborne is projected to grow from 6,800 in 2006 to 9,070 by 2031. Over this 25 year period, the number of jobs in Port Colborne is projected to increase by 2,270, or 33.3%.

The number of jobs in Port Colborne and its adjacent municipalities is projected to grow from 40,240 in 2006 to 55,120 by 2031. Over this 25 year period, the number of jobs in this area is projected to increase by 14,880, or 36.9%
