Clerks Division
The City Clerk has many statutory duties which are set out in various Statutes including, among many others, The Municipal Act, The Assessment Act, The Municipal Elections Act, The Drainage Act.

The key day to day duties of the City Clerk focus on Council Administration; registration of births and deaths (Division Registrar); lottery and business licensing; canine control and licensing; and, the handling of requests for information under the provisions of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The City Clerk is also a commissioner for the taking of oaths of affidavits.
