Scotiabank Convention Centre Opens
The Grand Opening of the Scotiabank Convention Centre took place on April 8, 2011.
The new Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Canada (SCCN), completes the large and colourful mosaic of exciting experiences that define Niagara's unique, world-class destination.
Much more than any ordinary convention and meeting facility, the Scotiabank Convention Centre is an innovator of the unconventional and a model of a new class of 'green' convention & meeting facilities committed to sustainability and community leadership. The Centre offers quick and easy access to: fun and dynamic entertainment only found in Niagara, Canada; the breath-taking natural beauty of the mighty Falls; and a whole region rich in history, culinary delights, and year-round cultural activities.
Board member and Port Colborne Mayor Vance Badawey is extremely excited about the contribution the Convention Centre will make to Niagara's overall destination marketing efforts. "With the opening of the Scotiabank Convention Centre, the bar has been raised with respect to the convention experience. When coming to Niagara, you are at the centre of it all. Niagara showcases an impressive array of natural wonders, sights and attractions that distinguish it as a world-class destination. There is no other place like it," stated the mayor.
Following the cutting of the ribbon, Mayor Badawey welcomed participants as they gathered in the Port Colborne Lounge.
