Vale Health & Wellness Centre

The Vale Health & Wellness Centre is a $32 million, state-of-the-art facility for sport, recreation, health, wellness, entertainment, and commerce – all under one roof - the first of its kind in the Niagara region.

The 140,000 square foot venue includes two NHL-sized ice pads, a walking/jogging track for all season use, six outdoor bocce courts and through partnership with the YMCA, an aquatic centre with lap and leisure pools,a gymnasium and fitness area.

The facility is nestled within the T.A. Lannan Sports Complex located at 550 Elizabeth Street that is home to six soccer fields, three baseball fields, a playground and recreation trails that connect with the Welland Canal Multi-Use Trails.

Special Notes
:

PAYP = Pay as you Play (pick-up hockey). Full equippment is required.

Stick and Puck Rules
*An adult (18 years+) is required to be on the ice wih their children or small group of children
*Adults are responsible to supervise their chldren on the ice
*Slap shots are not permitted. Pucks should not be raised off of the ice.
*Helmets are to be worn by all participants
*Organized games or practices are not permitted.
*Respect all others on the ice. No horseplay!

Summer Hockey Program

Based on the current numbers Community Services has amended the summer ice hockey program, the Port Colborne Summer Hockey program has been formulated to facilitate everyone who expressed interest in this program.   We will have an hour of ice per week for each of the age divisions who registered.  The program will follow the Pond Hockey League concept, providing for pick up hockey games allowing you more ice time to be active and further develop your hockey skills in anticipation of next season.  Anyone else still interested in registering are welcome and for more information please call 905-834-1668 Ext. 535

Completing your Registration:  May 13 to 24.   Payment will be accepted in the form of cheque, cash or debit at the front desk of City Hall, 66 Charlotte St., Port Colborne or at the Roselawn Centre at 296 Fielden Ave.

Cost: $75/child for ten sessions.

All payments must be made payable to the City of Port Colborne.

Pools

The Port Colborne YMCA is prepared to offer approximately 300 hours of programming per week to people of all ages and abilities.  In addition, the YMCA anticipates employing close to 75 staff and 40 volunteers who would provide local residents with over 250 different programs once the facility is fully operational.
